Little bitty baby Cox

Well this is the beginning of a new chapter in our lives, a chapter we did not expect to be in just yet. But our so thankful and so blessed we have been given this amazing opportunity to be parents.

I woke up on January 17th , today I decided I would take a pregnancy test just to rule out any worry I had that I might be pregnant.  I had taken one the month prior because I had missed my period. But a quick call to the doctor calmed us by letting us know its completely normal to miss on this type of birth control.  Well when the next month rolled around and I again missed I didn’t think twice about it. I was due to start up the next packet and thought before I do I might just check.
So I checked.
Almost immediately a faint second line began to appear and I panicked. I grabbed my phone and sent a text to my boss and asked her if it was at all possible for it to be wrong, knowing there are no false positives.
So I took another one.

                     Positive.

I got ready and met my boss where I am a nanny and we went over to the docs office and got some blood drawn that confirmed I was indeed pregnant.
So the next step was telling Dustin.
I really wanted it to be special and scored the Internet looking for ideas and thought on the subject. I ran across an idea and was so excited to use it!

It just happened to be our 4-month anniversary and Dustin just happened to be in need of a new belt. So I went to Kohl’s and picked up a University of Texas onsie and a belt, then headed over to Hobby Lobby and bought iron on letters and numbers.
Dustin had a huge game that night and ended up loosing which was not ideal for my big announcement, but after the game I raced home to try and get the onsie done in time he walked in as I was finishing it and had to finish it up in the bedroom. I put everything in a box and placed it on the counter. I told him I had a gift for him whenever he was ready to open it.
It took him a little while so I set up my phone on a dock to record his reaction.
When he finally did open his gift he pulled out the belt and tried it on.  He sat back down and thanked me and then I had to tell him there was another gift in the box. He then pulled out the UT onsie. On the back of the onsie it said Cox and the just under that was the number 34, which was Dustin’s number in high school.
He said, “Wow that is so cool” and held it up and all that.
I realized he wasn’t sure what I meant by it and so I told him there was one more gift in the box. He said “really?” and opened the box again to find the pregnancy test he looked at it and then looked at me and said, “are you?”.
I said yes… I’m pregnant.
It was such an amazing moment and a complete shock.

We are so excited to start this new part of our lives!!
